Bought a laptop, mostly to stay in touch with home. Is there someone that can give some advice on the best worldwide ISP that is competitively priced? My ISP at home is not very good for on the road.

it all depends, where you go.
I am "only" operating across Europe. Have set up several accounts with national free providers i.e. tescalinet in it, be, de, fr
and it works fine for me....just local rate phone costs.

If you find an ISP who has iPass MCM facility you can then get local dial up facility in most parts of the world.

Not that I use them, but I uncerstand AOL have local contact numbers just about worldwide. Take a look at:

The only people to offer local connectivity in the majoprity of countries are compuserve. However, ipass should give you most of the facilities you require.
