Gents,
I am wondering if anyone out there knew F/L John Stringer who tragically lost his life, along with the rest of the crew of WZ 363, in May 1964? John was the Nav Plotter and was on loan to this crew (originally crew 10 under Jock Wingate if my research is correct). My wife Susan was one of his five children and very young when he died. She would dearly love to know more about him. The full crew on this Valiant were, F/L Welles (Capt), F/L Mills (Co-Pilot), F/L Hawkins (Nav Bomber), Sgt Noble (AEOp). I believe that F/L Mills was also on loan to this crew.
John Stringer moved from 232 OCu to 207 Sqn in Feb 1964.
John's widow still resides in Marham Village.

I assume you have already searched (Google etc) for WZ363?
If not, this link may be of help: 207 Squadron Royal Air Force Association - the loss of the Welles crew - Valiant WZ363 - 6 May 1964 (http://www.207squadron.rafinfo.org.uk/valiants/welles_060564.htm)

Good advice but I have tried Google and derived what I could. My wife has no photgraphs of John (Dad) in uniform/flying kit so anything like that would be helpful in the extreme.
Grateful thanks!

Article in today's Rasen Mail states that a memorial plaque is to be raised and a service of dedication held for the crew of WZ363 on 9 May 2010. The memorial will be at the Railway Station which is close to the crash site.
