It's a long time since it was British Airways. From Scotland it has been London Airways for some time.
BA have a problem - easily solved - cancel the Glasgow flight, anytime, anywhere.

Rant over and I do feel better!

What I don't understand from the report is that if there are to be no
compulsory redundancies then how can the jobs not be at risk??? Are they all going through natural wastage??

They'll be offered jobs, probably long haul, at Heathrow in a similar fashion to the EGCC crew when their base closed.

I agree they would be offered jobs at other bases and then if they would not want to relocate they would reseign. BA probably predict alot will do the latter so would save a lot of money by not making them redundant.

BA really is London Airways now. Remember when we used to have bases and routes at BRS, MAN etc?

My thoughts are with all the GLA crew and having to find out via the media today!

I hope you are right ( about them being offered jobs down South) but as far as I understand it from a conversation I had with two of our v p****d off CC last week some of the MAN staff who redeployed to LHR last year have just been laid off..it doesn't seem to me BA is in the mood for taking up slack at LHR at the moment.

So does this mean that BACF can make their "unofficial" base at GLA official?

I enjoyed working with the GLA crew. Always pleasant, friendly and efficient. I sincerely hope their offer from BA is reasonable. I have spoken to quite a few of them recently though and don't think the commute followed by long haul at LHR is really going to appeal to many of them.

Well, the Engineers at MAN were given similar news last week and some (not all) were hoping that the CC offer that was extended to the groundstaff at MAN last year would become available to them now. :ugh: Ho-hum.

Best of luck to you all in GLA.

WE are all going to need it. :ok::rolleyes:
