Ok...to put you in the picture. I've only got an old (well ancient really) PC. Its a 200MhZ P1, 64MB RAM with Win95.
My Question is can I get a decant virus scanner free somewhere on the net or, if not, can anyone suggest a good one that I can go out and buy that will work on my poor old machine.
Thanks in advance for any help that you might be able to give me.

P.S. I've already got ZoneAlarm and it works pretty well.

Go to a site called www.helpvirus.com (http://www.helpvirus.com) that have loads of good info and some shareware / freeware downloads that might be of use. another site is www.shareware.com (http://www.shareware.com)
Also some ISPs give you anti virus software free (well included in the monthly price) Uunet Pipex are one who supply Norton as standard.
Hope this helps.

Both Sophos & McAfee are probabley the most used worldwide. Not saying they are the best, but they are big players. I believe their web sites have demo versions to download for free.

Thanks all for your help.
Took a few minutes searching on www.shareware.com (http://www.shareware.com) but now I've got quite a good little virus scanner :)

Just remember that ANY anti-virus software is only as good as its updates, so dont just install the program and leave it there. You have to establish a regular routine for updating the virus definitions.
