I particularly liked the 'New Rules' skit. Very Clever.

If anyone wants to be given a very sobering 45 minutes, do a Google search for "Blue Eyes, Brown Eyes" to see where Bill Maher drew his inspiration for that skit. Watch the whole program; it's amazing.

I watched Jon Stewart yesterday. I've seen him in passing, and would have walked away, but my son was showing me the new minimal advertising system on his computer, so I watched it, and regretted not having watched before.

It seems that it's blocked in the UK.

Have a look at this sketch. Get past the reload and the ad, (which isn't on the new system) and look at the pair of pics of Gee Dubbleya. Very very funny.

Video of Tina Fey as Palin during interview with Couric.

Some say Fey just copied Palin's words.

Maher, although dead on at times, is a complete arrogant @#$.

If you live outside the hip, liberal, "progressive", "caring" bastions on the slivers of each coast of the US, you're just a dumb hick to him.

He's spent way too much time in New York and LA. I'd figured you guys would have figured it out given the endless garbage beamed from those places worldwide and into your TV's. Little of his (and Hollywoods garbage) reflects the true USA. (And please ignore those safaris by his type into middle America where they pick only the nutcases to interview)

Whatsalizad, please explain to me why the Midwest is the "true" USA as opposed to the coasts... What makes a the US from Oklahoma "truer" than the one from California?

Bill Maher certainly doesn't reflect ALL of the US, just the part I like...

WhatsaLizad? pls do elaborate about the midwest, i'm always interested in learning !

I've been to rural Utah and the people seem to be very nice. But I work very hard trying to understand how the Republicans justify Bush and McCain.

Note: I do believe that the Democratic and Republican parties are not that different; all owned by special interests.

Agreed. He's a very intelligent guy, he's just too enamored of himself and how superior to others he is. Anyone believing in God (see his upcoming anti-religion movie as an example) is automatically stupid. Anyone believing in non-governmental interference is in the auto-stupid mode. However, he's rapidly against the measures taken to try and safeguard the US. Not unwarranted opposition, but he offers no counters, just scoffs at the efforts.

He's a gadfly making his living in satirical comedy. Stewart is much better.

The utmost liberals of Hollywood for example. They know the government should run most things for the average man since the average man can't take care of himself. Of course, those controls don't need to apply to the Hollywood elite because of course they are smarter. Include the stereotypical New York 5th Avenue type for the East Coast and you have your comparison.

Pity you don't go for Des Moines or Tulsa for example.

Great quote I heard tonight on PBS's Reagan documentary.

Chris Matthews:

..... the minute the middle class in this country no longer fears unemployment, it gets very very conservative. When it fears unemployment, it identifies with poor people because it says, we're next. But, as long as they figure, we're next to get rich, in a time of a boom, they're very conservative.
