Mutt, this one is for you:

I saw the planned delivery for the A320's. It looked like almost 30 are going to arrive before the end of 2010, with another 20 over the following 3 years.

Is Saudia going to phase out the MD90's on a one for one with the 320's?

Are they still keeping the Classics?

I cant figure out where the pilots for this transition are going to come from?

Thanks for any insight.

A320's are coming from leasing companies and Airbus, the MD90s should be phased out against the delivery of the Airbus aircraft.

Classics have to stay until the A330 replace them, this will begin in 2012, although judging by the number of non-owned A330/340 aircraft sitting in Toulouse, this might be a lot sooner!

With 100 new hire FO's per year (Saudi nationals only before any decides to apply) They will have sufficient FO's, the Captains will be hard to find, but with the introduction of Sabre AirCrews and implementation of new work practices, it wont be an impossible task.

The fun starts just after Eid, so sit back and enjoy it :):)

mutt,

You say Sabre Aircrews?? Can you explain these please?

Also what are the 'new work practices' and when are they going to be implemented?

Regarding the new busses, I really do hope they can take advantage of the current situation and speed up the schedule.

Regarding Sabre... I'm confused. I thought our German friends have been installing LH systems' kit.

Also, I've heard the cabins on the 777 are being revamped. Any news on that?

Foolz.... JetBlue cancelled A320's orders hence the early delivery of A320s. As for the A330s, just wait and see, they might surprise you.

You are confused, LHS lost to Sabre, however LHS have their fingers involved in other parts of the forthcoming changes.

1st B777 with new interior due next month, 8 in total with business interior, rest will be Asian interiors.

Thanks Mutt.

This should prove to be entertaining. It took 3 years to staff the 15 E70's. They will really have to go into overdrive for this to happen.
