That is very bad news! I hope for you that Lloyds sorts that out quickly.

Every time I receive my EK salary I transfer most of it offshore ASAP. Your case has proven my point.

It does not matter which bank you use in the Middle East, they are all pretty useless and it is easier to sue a bank in the western world if it really becomes necessary. :\

Good luck again

Have to agree with the last post, the less money I can keep in Dubai the better.
However Lloyds now intened to charge 100dhs a month for any account that does not have a min balance of 10,000dhs yes thats 10,000Dhs(Approx 1500STG).
Spoke to a friend of mine who complained to the head customer service guy to be told that they have shareholders to look after, fair enough except the interest rate on the savings account is about 1% and yet take out a car loan and pay 7-9% interest I could go on.
Does anyone know of a decent bank here in Dubai that does not charge for a current account thats always in the black and provides a reasonable level of service.
Is this just me or does this smell of a bank thats lost a lot of money care of the clever boys in the stock market and needs to refil its piggybank.
1 :mad:off long term Lloyds customer who has been with the bank for some 30 years!!

Hmmm... LLoyds used to be really good - but the latest charges are a bit rich - mashreq only charge 40 dhs and give you one free transfer per month ( which Lloyds charge 60 chips for)

If you have a mortgage BTW you don't pay this 100 chips.. just covered by the higher interest rates they slug anyway..

but they are much better to deal with than any of the rest most of the time..

But that is not hard with the 3rd world banking system they have in M/E.

Will be checking my account too after this chaps loss.. they did put out a bulletin to say to change your pin number a while ago,,

Lost Dhs 15000 today.

3 transactions in Egypt where I have never been.

NBD (Lloyds car processor) was aware of the problem 10 days ago, when my CC would not work anymore. I was the one who had to inform Lloyds about the problem, 9 days later after being told that "everything is fine on the account".

Bunch of useless muppets.
