I would be interested to hear from any other UF users regarding what you intend to do when/if the current service is pulled as indicated (again)in the recent Email from Freeserve.
I'm thinking of sitting tight and waiting until something happens....or doesn't, as the case may be.

I too received the email inviting me to transfer to AnyTime with the special offer code.
I tried to transfer but there is a "problem" with the link and I receive an IAF Template Error which, after phoning them to enquire, is their billing engine which is giving them some problems.
They say they are working to rectify it but I have since received a 10 day extension to the cut off date for getting the special offer.
They will be shutting down Unlimited Time by the 31st August.
I have tried AOL in the past but hated it and at £14.99 p/m is £2 more than FS.

In light of the fact that they are withdrawing "Freeserve Unlimited" at the end of August, I too am waiting to see if anything better comes along. At the moment the next best deal that I can see is using ntl at £15 per month but that deal does include £15 per month of 'phone calls so your internet time should be free. I am not on ntl cable, and they will not put cable into my area due too few potential customers, so I will have to buy a "smart dialler" at £10.

If you are interested call ntl on 0500 400 500

I would be interested in others opinions!

My World runs on Freeserve Unlimited. So far, the only communication was

Dear Freeserve Unlimited member,

During the next few weeks you may see some advertisements offering new
Freeserve customers the opportunity to register for Freeserve AnyTime and
receive their first month free.

In June we will be writing to Unlimited members such as yourself offering
you the promised AnyTime offer, which will be exclusive to Unlimited
members, and which will save you even more money! The saving for Unlimited
members will be £23 off the standard price over six months, compared with
just a £12.99 saving for the First Month Free offer.

If you do decide to cancel your Unlimited account and apply for the current
First Month Free offer, please be aware that:
· there is a seven day notice period when cancelling your Unlimited account
· the AnyTime service is currently subject to availability, and if you are
unable to register for Freeserve AnyTime we will not be able to reinstate
your Unlimited account.

Because of this we strongly recommend that you wait just a few more weeks
for your special offer email which you will receive in June.

I have not failed to notice that we are now in July and nothing further has been received. Anyone had any more luck??

They've also just put the price of they're ADSL service up by £10 a month, they even had the cheek to write to me and tell me what a "good deal" I was going to get by finishing my 12 month contract at the current rate before they'd start asking for an extra £120 a year!

And they're cancelling they're inbox service, it seems Freeserve have a habit of providing a service for 6 months or so and then cancelling it to start up something else!

I received the e/mail today, offering me the chance to save on the £12.99 cost for the first six months. Somehow doesn't seem to remind me that I currently pay £10 and get £10 of free phone calls.

Nonetheless, tried to sign up. All OK until I go to the credit card screen - at that point, a message that I have keyed the details incorrectly. Several attempts (with different cards) later and still not registered.

Angry phone call in the morning methinks......

Still no joy getting transferred to Anytime.
Phoned today and spoke to a particularly unhelpful bloke.
"Your computer must be the problem. All our stuff's alright".
"You'll have to re-register, get a new email address and then subscribe to Anytime. Of course you won't get the better discount then".
He said, like the previous 3 people I've spoken to that they'll "forward the complaint to Head Office", but "you might not get any feedback". What a way to run a service!!!
Offer expires in 3 days.
Search for new ISP commences...

Spoke to an unhelpful bloke "oh you can't discuss that on this number, you need to call...." When questioned why that number was the specific one given on the e/mail - dunno it must be wrong on the e/mail.

Eventually, spoke to a helpful lady and she has registered me from her end with no problem.

Indeed, it seems to me to be a slightly better connection -- or am I just dreaming?

I just changed over to ANYTIME, I had to call the tech support, i'm sure it took they guy a min to tell me it would cost 50p/min!

I had to add "1470," infront of the 08089933006 to dial the ISP since we are x-directory.

I've tried AOL/Compuserve/BT/Lineone etc etc... not found them to be as good freeserve. Also the First month with any time is 5.99 and the next couple of months is 9.99 before it rises.

I'm more than happy with it :)

Every time I've phoned them, they claim not to be able to register me from their end as it will configure their machine!
Maybe one more try...
