Had another stint at fixing my problem with FS2K. Took a big breath to reinstall windows.
(Was dubious as it seemed a big task)
Anyway...IT WORKED!!
REINSTALLED AND ALL IS OKAY!!
Thanks again to everyone who gave suggestions!!
Now I can start to winge about all the other problems!!! (SLOW, UNREALSITIC etc etc!!)
