OK.

I'm puzzled and confused. Can anyone put me right.

Helitech say that their Biennial show has been going 21 years (eg starting in 1989), but also that

Helitech 2009 will be the 14th edition to be held in the UK, and that 2007 was the 12th. Both these statements cannot be correct, and in fact, both seem to be wrong.

Weren't there seven Helitechs at Redhill (1987, 89, 91, 93, 95, 97, and 1999), and four at Duxford (2001, 2003, 05 and 07)?

Am I missing any?

How many 'foreign' Helitechs have there been? I know that Helitech 2002 South America was the inaugural South American Helitech, held November 5 to 7, 2002 and that there was a Helitech Latin America 2004, held again in São Paulo, September 21 to 23, 2004.

Have there been any more?

And wasn't there a Helitech 2004 Dubai, the first Helitech in the Middle East, (December 6 to 9)?

Have there been any more?

Any help gratefully received

Thanks!

I see that on 15th November 2004 Phoenix Rising posted a number of photos from Helitech ..... Was there thus a Helitech in 2004?

Or was he just tardy?

Helitech started at Aberdeen before it was at Redhill - dates were 8-10 April 1986. Originally an offshore industry event that had to get bigger to justify its existence.

Early Redhill versions were at the bottom/east of the grass airfield and it got the nickname Welly-tech. Even the top/west of the airfield was damp, hence the need to move to Duxford, whicih gives much more space for visitors by air.
