Hi,

I've just installed my joystick - a MS Sidewinder Precison Pro on another PC which has FS 2000. I was using on mine with just FS 98.

When I test it the rudder / throttle work fine. But when i fly the they don't work.

Any ideas guys ?

What sort of pc is it on? I think some joysticks use the midi port to do the "feedback" thing.

Its on a mesh. The joystick is usb though, and it's not the force feedback model.

Not to fussed about the rudder, but it's a pain having to keyboard the thrust levers! !

I had loads of problems with one of these joysticks, there were several threds onhere about the problems associated with it, I spent a whole week on the MS website doing the troubleshooting and downloading drivers, in the end it still wouldn't work and the T/S told me to buy a new soundcard!
I took the joystick back to the shop and got my money back. I then bought a Logitech Wingman extreme digital which was half the price and worked first time, excellent piece of kit.
Try a search here for related info.

You could try here, but make yourself comfortable it could be a long haul.

I also had a major battle getting FlightSim to recognise the expensive Force Feedback joystick - but it instantly accepted the cheap and nasty simple version.

Turned out to be that the Force needs to interact with MIDI signals....which the little'un didn't.

Hope you fix it - or should I say, "May the force be with you"

If it is just the throttles that are not working in FS2K it could be the way you are starting the a/c, are you using keys to start engs, after startup on a 747 say you'll find that only 1 eng responds to moving the throttle normally the last one you started. What you need to do is press and hold the eng key (can't remember off the top of my head) think it's E then press 1,2,3 & 4 so that all eng's are selected and then it should! work.
