I see they have announced the new SVP for Flight Training on the system. Anybody know anything about him? I see he was CP at Thomas Cook.

Yes, he is coming from My Travel / Thomas Cook. A few colleagues of mine who are there express their gratitude to us for taking him off their hands! No further comment ..............

He is being sold to us as former Cheif Pilot, problably a TRI with a dodgy CV.

Bit like them telling us Long Range ED was head of flight ops at Northwest .

Initials are MM for our new SVP..

With all due respect there may be 2400 Pilots but very rarely do they put themselves forward because doing so involves;
Hard work
Risk of a carpet shuffle after a few years
Hard work
Making difficult decisions that won't be appreciated because there will be 2400 out there that know better of course

I've worked with MM and had no probs!:\

Good for you Mr. Angry, but actually your view is horse s**t, the reason nobody applies is 'cause they end up earning less as a manager than they would on the line.

Few people have a prob with a bit of hard work....... but doing it for bu**er all.. thats another thing:ok:

Sh*t even I can nod my head and be a yes man to these wan*ers:ugh:

Methinks they didn't want anyone from amongst the 2400-odd drivers - or did I miss it being advertised to us?

Give the man a break until you see the whites of his eyes, to mix meatphors.

So, already we have 'Teak Ass', 'Mr Ed'... I await with great expectation the as yet unknown nickname this respected gentleman will all too soon be saddled with.

Mr MK
Sorry I have to disagree. Having been in management both in and out of the airline business its always good to have an outside face bring in new ideas and prevent the operation from becoming stale...:)

If that's the case, it might be said quite safely that airlines don't come much 'fresher' than EK.

This is the same guy that sent out a Snottagramme to all the pilots who were bailing out of Airtours/MYT telling them to think twice before rushing off to the "land of sand" because the "grass isn't always greener" :=

Well MM what are you doing here then. :ugh:

Doubt he'll last.

In that case, until a better one comes along, maybe his 'probationary' EK nickname should be "GAG"*
