Netscape & disappearing icons.

When my Netscape (version 4.7) does its favourite party trick and does an "Illegal Operation" it puts itself away and you have to start afresh. Annoying enough, but it also takes away most of the bottom of screen icons including the icon for Net Medic (free when I downloaded it and well worthwhile).
Can any kind person tell me how to retrieve the icons without re booting.
