Sorry if this has been coveed before but how do you go about getting a mod through an EASA STC?

I want to fit vortex generators to a C206. I am pretty sure the mod has no EASA STC for the aircraft type.

Thanks in advance

As an individual, you can't.

The EASA system requires the application to be made by an approved company. They have to prepare and submit a compliance report for the modification to the relevant DLS (Design Liaison Surveyor) for the aircraft type within either EASA or whichever national authority they've delegated that to. The specific procedures for doing that will be in the company handbook/exposition/TPM (terms keep changing, the basic function doesn't).

Suitable companies might be somebody like Britten Norman, who have certainly done this sort of thing for 3rd party customers in the past, but I don't know if they still do. Another company I've worked with who have a good track record of this sort of thing might be Cranfield Aerospace.

Offhand, expect a bill in the low/mid tens of thousands of pounds - maybe mid/high thousands if there's very good design data available from the holder of a US STC, but that's rarely the case. You have been warned!
