Have both 100 and 250 versions. Desk-top has main H/D 4.3G and secondary 20.0G both partitioned to approx 2.0G drives - so drive listing up to 'Q' with the CD-ROM as 'S'. My lap-top has a 10.0G as a single 'C' drive. If I try to install either ZIPs to the desktop, it goes through the motions but does not assign a drive letter so cannot access them. If I install to the lap-top, they both install OK. The Config.Sys has Lastdrive = Z incorporated. Can anyone out there offer suggestions (apart from the gallon of petrol/box of matches routine)? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/confused.gif

What operating system, ide/atapi/zip or parrallel? Have a look at http://www.iomega.com/support/zip1a_install.html answers to this should be there. You may need to update software.

What about converting your drive to FAT32, then you can get around the 2GB partition thing. (I think you still need to use partitions, but they are 8GB instead of 2.) If you do want to, try Partition MAgic v5, it is great, and safe.

If you aren't already, try running "Iomega Guest", it comes with the Iomega drive or can be downloaded from Iomega. It should find the drive and assign it a drive letter.

As Tallbloke says, FAT32 is the way to go, it supports partitions upto several terrabytes, ie thousands of gigabytes.

Many thanks, chaps

Spanners, will give that a whirl.

Tallbloke, would you believe that the reason I have 2Gb partitions is that I have Partition Magic v4 and IT did that!!! :)

Pilot-lite, have tried Guest and it, similarly, can't see the Zip.

Will continue to fumble and if anything works, will pass on the 'gen'.
