POSTPONEMENT OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW ATPL/CPL/IR
SYLLABUS AND EXAMINATIONS
The SA Civil Aviation Authority has decided to postpone the implementation of
the new ATPL/CPL/IR syllabus and examinations scheduled for implementation
January 2009. A new implementation date is forecast for September 2009.
The new 2009 syllabus as published on our website will be removed with
immediate effect to enable further consultation with stakeholders. It is expected
that a revised ATPL/CPL/IR syllabus will be published on the CAA website by the
end of November 2008. This revision will then be available for public comment
for a period of 3 months prior to submission to CARCOM.
The new implementation date will take effect 6 months after completion of the
approval process.
Kindly take note that candidates for the CPL and ATPL will continue to be
examined on the syllabus as currently published in SA-CATS-FCL 61 Appendix
2.0 until further notice.
