Hi All,
I tried to print a document from my laptop using my sons printer. The document failed to print and to cut a long story short it turned out that the USB connection on the printer was damaged. I now have a file sitting in my 'active printers' box which says 'deleting' It has been deleting for 3 days :ooh:
Is there a way I can get rid of this as its getting on my nerves sitting there in the taskbar.
Thanks in advance

This may help (assuming XP):

1. Restart the spooler service:

Control Panel -->Admin Tools -->Services-->Print spooler-->Stop and start

2. Delete the actual files telling the spooler it has something to print:

C drive --> Windows--> System32 --> spool--> PRINTERS --> There will be 2 files for every document that is in the queue. Delete them and restart your computer.

Search for "problem deleting print job" in MS site.

When this has happened to me in the past...

I usually press "pause" and then delete it... Think i have even put the printer offline and then paused, and then deleted...

I now always pause current printing documents before deleting as i got this problem all the time
