I would be grateful if someone could indicate the UK job market situation for experienced aircraft engineers.

I am posting this on behalf of a contact that has just been made redundant from Futura. So this is not my professional area and hence this post is rather vague. All I know is that his position involves approving maintenance that has been undertaken on engines and approval for flight if an engine has been damaged etc.

He is based in Spain.

Would an engineer of his experience/qualifications be in demand in the UK. Although I know his English needs room for improvement.

Thanks

Tell your mate to look at the Aviation Job Search website. I'm sure that with B737-800 experiance (I guess he has that) he will find an opening in the UK, if not permie then contract position. Wish him good luck:ok:

As you say, the info about your contact is rather vague. His/her chances would be ok if he has a Part 66 licence,B1 and/or B2; especially with a few types.

Thanks,

I'll pass on the details. As I say his level of English is the deciding factor here not his qualifications (I think?).

Might be a good idea to get him to post his experience here however if his level of English is poor it will be very difficult for him to work here.
