Is my monitor dead?

Earlier this evening, my 5 year old daughter held a fridge magnet close to my monitior and it's gone a bit strange! The best aviating description would be Scattered CB's. Basically, it's gone all grey and murky in various places. Is this terminal?

Try to Degauss the monitor, may be on a pop up menu on your monitor, this de magnetize the monitor,

Try turning the monitor off, letting it cool for half an hour then turn it back on. A lot of modern monitors have automatic degausseing which works every time the monitor is started from cold.

If that doesn't work any local tv engineer should be able to degauss it for you, it used to be a common prob, not so much now as someone stated most crt's will auto degauss.
