About once a week I get a blue screen of death during shutdown and have to HARD power down ME.
No vituses nothing unusual running in background and comp otherwise fine.
PII 450, previously ran 98 with no probs and the config is unchanged since upgrading to ME.
Windows site has no help that I could find although this problem doesn't appear unusual asking around.
If you are happy with 98 sr2 I would not recommend ME.
Any ideas out there please?

Have any of you defrag your hard disk/s just before you started having this problem? I do remember their being a Microsoft Knowledge Base Article on this subject not long ago. It mentioned one cause being a problem with Defrag. Try this link for some info on this:- http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q262/9/06.ASP?LN=EN-GB&SD=gn&FR=0

It could be anything of coarse. Try this link for the Microsoft online troubleshooter:- http://support.microsoft.com/support/windows/tshoot/startup98/?PR=W95

Thanks for the info guys.
Problem occured prior to any defrag but will look at those links.
Maybe a re install is the best answer in the long run...
