Yesterday at about 1830 BST (local time) I saw what must have been a DC8 or a B707 heading West over the south Dublin suburbs on what seems to be the usual approach to Baldonnel (RWY 28). It was certainly much too low - < 2000 ft - to be on any normal approach to DUB. Anyone got any idea of what it was?

When I saw it, it was heading away from me, and I could not identify it more precisely: but it was large and had 4 engines.

This was an African International DC-8 - ZS-OSI - and believe it is still there, having experienced a technical snag. This is a supply flight for the Irish Army's mission in Tchad.

Flies to SNN after Baldonnel, before heading to Africa.

Is this to pick up fuel due to Baldonnel runway length?
