Overhead while listening to the Live ATC feed from YBBN (Brisbane International) yesterday:

"Be advised that our instruments indicate a tailwind gusting to 6 knots at the touchdone point for Runway 19 but an 8 knot headwind at the other end of the runway...so I guess that means the airport is...er....sucking badly today."

You're just doing this to make the Poms cry, aren't you?

Be patient. The Ashes Series is not far off and you can watch them cry to your hearts' content then........:E

Pretty common occurrence at Hamilton Island when a north easterly is the prevailing wind. Both windsocks point at each other, pilots ask which runway should we use? Only a novice controller would put an opinion on tape; lots of water at both ends of the fairly short strip. It's up to you, Captain, that's what you get paid the big money for!

(Now that I'm out, I'd recommend 14 every time).

Hang on, I just re-read the original post. Isn't that how it should be, with a tailwind at one end and a headwind at the other?
