Check this out...... .Am I at Risk?. .This worm was originally discovered in Europe but trades on the massive popularity of Britney Spears worldwide. Any email or IRC program could potentially deliver this virus to unwitting users.
How Does the Virus Work?. .This virus arrives as an email with an attachment named BRITNEY.CHM purporting to contain pictures of Britney Spears. The subject line will read "RE: Britney Pics" and the body will read "Take a look at these pics". If the user double clicks the icon in the body the worm will infect the hard drive and disable all .EXE files. It will also copy itself to BRITNEY.CHM in the Windows folder and email itself to all addresses in the user's Outlook address list. . . . .How Can I Avoid the Virus?. .-- Do not download any email attachments named BRITNEY.CHM. .-- Update your anti-virus software so you are protected whilst browsing the Web.. .-- Download the Microsoft security update which will protect your PC against the virus.
