Long and interesting article (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7541317.stm) on the Beeb's web site.

Begins with:-
Britain's most controversial spy-plane stands shimmering in the fierce afternoon heat at its base in the Middle East, at a location we have been asked not to disclose for security reasons.

We were taken there by the head of the RAF, Air Chief Marshal Sir Glenn Torpy, for an exclusive look at the Nimrod MR2 and to talk to its air and ground crews about how they feel flying an aircraft whose safety has been fiercely debated.

Also at point 22.24; iPlayer Radio Console (http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/news.shtml?radio4/pm)

A well balanced report, I thought; but won't satisfy some.

BBC 6pm news did a fluff piece on the same subject this evening. Pure RAF propaganda!

So you'd be happy slagging off the aircraft and the RAF instead when it simply wouldn't be true?

MG - did I actually say that RAF propaganda, nay, any propanganda, is a bad thing? Anyway, the media were balancing it up by reminding consumers of all the negative news on the story.

Point taken but that one word 'propaganda' has so many negative overtones. Thanks for the clarification.
