I have recently upgraded my Anti-Virus software to the above package. I find the new iterface much more user friendly than my previous Anti Virus 2000 Ver 6.0 software. I keep getting a pop-up message informing me that various remote computers have attempted to access my computer, it also says these computers have been blocked for 30 mins. If I look into it deeper it gives me the address of the remote computer that has attempted to access my computer. Is there any way of looking into this addresss and finding out who is behind the attempts, it is possible that they may be legitimate. An example of these address is 203.218.196.25 and 203.218.196.25. As usual any help greatly appreciated.

Unless you're a sysadmin there is no way they are legitimate, but it seems that Kiddies doing port scans are part of the internet. I thought exactly the same as you when I installed Zone Alarm, but after a couple of days I just put it into 'quiet' mode and ignored it. I guess I've scanned the log file once since. Must have been bored....

Unless you're on an always-on connection, ignore it. If you've got ADSL make sure that your firewall is always up to date, so keep using Live Update, and watch the Microsoft security alerts (XP makes this much easier, btw). Sadly you can get into some grief if some l337 h@xx0r d00dz do manage to grab control of your machine and use it to DDOS Amazon.
