Digital Camcorders & Aircraft

Does anyone have a recommendation for using a digital camcorder for airliner action ? It must be fairly small for ease of use/carrying on trips and have good zoom facilities. (i.e. 20x optical zoom)

I am also looking for a low lux rating and PC Firewire connection.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

One of the things I'd like to do is plug my Sony Air-7 radio into the camcorder to create a soundtrack to match the video footage. Is the sort of thing which may be possible?
