Something to do with the U/C, hope I'm wrong but doesn't sound trivial :ouch::ouch:

From what I've read, it seems that there was a failure of two bolts securing locating plates for the upper attachment point of the 'eye' end of the left undercarriage door actuator jack.

The landing gear itself is fine.

Hopefully a new actuator jack and attachment plates will be fitted next week; retraction tests will need to be conducted but the team are pretty confident that the work will be relatively straightforward - and it seems that they are being permitted to work in Base Hangar.

In an email this morning an old mate (and former Vulcan Rad Nav) tells me he was cutting his lawn yesterday when XH558 flew over; he lives close to the approach to Finningley.

Has anyone any ideas as to where she was going or, indeed, had been?
