I have just completed a clean install of ME after my previous installation over 98 caused endless crashes/freezes.
All is well, and most problems have been solved with updates and patches from different manufacturers. However I am stuck with the fact that double clicking any photo (JPEG) icon results in the first photo after start up being displayed by the default viewer (Photo Editor)OK, but after that no other photo can be opened without the program opening and then defaulting to 'Error reading file'.
All photo's on the hard drive, CD-RW and floppy can be opened and viewed by the other programs without fault. So I can only presume Photo Editor is at fault.
Any idea's anyone? I have looked throughout MS support pages but cannot find any reference to this program.
