Amazing, CX ground staff (CDG) are giving any reason to push away/delay SLF (my partner included). Just wish they would tell the truth, much easier to take instead of lies.

Staff at CDG told my partner it was FOG. She contacted me, and with the help of BusyB above she told them , and all the other SLF what the real reason was. Staff eventually fessed up. There would be no problem if the told the truth from the start.

They probably didn't know. FWIW BA flights to HKG were cancelled yesterday as well.

The CDG staff didn't know?????

Can't they read the front page on Intracx?

Or watch CNN.

Typical French, pretend not to know and pass the buck............

Went out to HKG for a flight to ICN at 1000L. Aircraft were departing 07R. While holding short of runway, watched 3 aircraft go-around. Wind was 330/25-27G30-38. Our limitation (A310) is 28kts. Gusts are controlling for takeoff. We taxied back to the gate and now I sit in the hotel. Things were only going to get worse.

Just my two bits...

Looking at conditions now I would tend to agree with you Fac6, however the "back" side of a typhoon always seems to be worse.
Guarantee the signal will be downgraded to a 3 but conditions will be worse than when the 9 was up.
If not, its buggered up our Friday night for nothing.:{
