I've been using the barber shop in the Mandarin Oriental for the last 19 years and very satisfied. A haircut costs HK$300.

Tung Chung mall. Across the walkway in the old part (Fu Tung). $70 HKG. OK, so their English sucks, but I'm not paying $400 for a fancy, girly salon. It's a haircut! It grows back! Show them the pic on your ID. Seems to work.

only an A scaler can afford 300. Get the mrs to do it with pudding bowl for a fiver and no one will notice - honest,

Lama Garden best all round deal for you!

But, don't say no to extras! This is a put-down.

PS. Beware of Cowboys unless you hang that way!

I'm with Cowboy. Danny in CX City does a fine job and he only charges around $140. Very convenient and not a bad price.

Staunton St, turn left on escalator with a view to the Peak, just beyond Watsons Wine. Out door barber. $40HKD.

With the money you have saved, buy a good bottle of red from Watsons. Allain Graillot Crozes Hermitage 2005 or Voyager Estate Cabernet Merlot 2003. $180 & 197 HKD respectively. They are $60AUD & $45AUD in Oz at the moment.

Cheaper for your kids too- Chinese Army style $25HKD.

I got a pair of Wahl clippers - do three kids and a Schnauzer in about an hour. You welcome to borrow it.

Went to the Tung Chung butcher, yeah it was cheap but they cut until you say stop and it took five weeks to recover.
The basement of the Bank of America building in Admiralty has a traditional barber (you know, hot towels to Elmer Fud's standard) of high quality, about $200 from memory.
The Barber Shop between Wellington St and Stanley St, down a dingy alley, 1st right after Starbucks when heading West along Wellington St, then up stairs is a very good quality traditional barber. I think about $230 with the blokes cutting better than the girls.
The Voyager Estate Cabernet Merlot 2003 was lovely with the roast NN Zud lamb, thanks Gnadenburg.
Must dash as I have to make it to the Bridge before T8 lockin.

Buy some clippers or get it done while on a layover.

Sorry I havent found anywhere I like getting my hair cut in HKG, but there are heaps of places in SGN!:E

I cant stand having my hair shampood for half an hour, cut, shampood for another half hour cut a bit more, washed......and finally blow dried after there was nothing left to dry. Price is always pretty good though.
