Hi everybody.

I was wondering if there was a chance that a civil engineer can find some sort of job with Qatar Airways or any other gulf airline? since civil eningeer seems to me unrelated to the aviation industry.

Thanks.

Many of the big Middle East carriers are involved to some extent in new airport developments and play a significant role in the shape of those developments. Etihad for example are the anchor tenant (possibly only user) of the new T3 facility at Abu Dhabi and as such have played a significant role in the development of the facility. They are also heavily involved in the design and development of the new 'midfield' complex which is essentially the new airport. As such they engage various skilled specialists as required in order to 'protect their interests'. it's not unknown for these carriers to engage experts in building design and construction either on a consultancy or full time employee basis. I've met one or two at 'stakeholder' meetings on one or two of the larger projects in the Middle East. Have a trawl through their recruitment sites or try dropping a note to their HR departments.
Good Luck.

I believe the Poison Dwarf wanted to construct a rack a while back and had to shelve the project because he couldn't find an engineer in Doha to build it. Maybe you are his wet dream A340. Give the little man a call eh :O
