What is my monitor doing

Every time after start up on a WIN 98 system, i do the Win log in bit and hit enter, I then have to turn off my monitor and turn it on again, it works fine in every other respect?

what is going on with it, all i get is the black screen??

What happens if you use cancel instead of entering a neame and pword?

havent tried that , will have a go when i am next on that machine, although nothing changes if i log on another user name, still the same monitor off / monitor on routine!

Have a look at your power saving settings could be the monitor off setting has been set really really short. <img src="wink.gif" border="0">

if that was the case wouldnt the monitor continue to do it throughout rather than on startup?

Does it work ok if you bring the machine up in "safe mode"?
