View Full Version : Looking for new car GPS system - TomTom?

For the past four years or so I have used a Compaq iPAQ 3970 with TomTom to navigate around France (in my car). It has worked very well with TomTom 5.0 and v562 maps.
The set still works well but I feel I will need to replace it soon.
Are there any experts on the latest TomTom gadjets to advise which version to get?
I would be satisfied with the simplest version but I suspect it would not have the memory to load the France map. Would I need to get one of the more expensive versions and put in an extra memory SD card?
Any advice or information gratefully received.

TomTom One Ver3 with EU mapping circa £100. No frills, no card slot, no bluetooth. Has speed cameras and mapping which can both be updated over the internet and a relatively neat windscreen suction mount. Traffic antenna available separately gives unlimited traffic info in certain compatible countries.
