Dear Ppruners,

Don't you think that there is a major risk for economy and specialy aviation industry downturn other than fuel prices? WWIII! Yes.

Don't you think all the followins are sings of WW3:

- Atomic issue of iran
- Iran & Israel threatening each other
- The defence system of USA in Czchec and threat of Russia destroying it with a military response
- Russia and Georgia Conflict
- Russia threatining Ukraine and some others for not joining NATO, otherwise military action
- NATO disputes and emerging seperation over the issue of Afghanistan
- USA threating all and want them to govern according to their Kingdom
- Global warming and no real concerns and action steps
- Economic Downturns
- And of course the last, but not the least; Mr. Bush clearly giving the warnings of WW3.

And I'm afraid if WW3 begins then there will be neither civil aviation nor anything else.

I guess you haven't done much world history. It is the natural state of humans to live with numerous small wars, financial crises, friction. In the century from 1815 to 1914, the western world lived without major conflict, but there were still numerous small wars, financial crises, friction, revolution....... Don't worry about it- when all is peace and light, then start worrying about something nasty happening. In the meantime, we must remember- religion is one of the biggest causes of conflict. There are no gods, allahs, 72 virgins waiting for us when we blow ourselves up so there is no point blowing yourself and your private parts to smithereens in the hope they will be waiting up there for you- the world is what we make it, and our human relations are down to us, not some daft idea of a deity. If we chose to be evil to each other and use weird religious justification to go out and kill, then expect to be pursued and killed ourselves. Just remember the world is what we make it.

...is eternal vigilance.
Humans have always fought... and they always will. When they stop fighting, that's when I'll get seriously concerned.
Isn't evolution just one big fight, with the best winning?
