Seems to be a reasonable wage and should result in low turnover of staff. A Captain in his mid forties and beyond could seriously consider staying to retirement rather than move to airline flying or going overseas.

Sounds a lot compared to pilot pay in the past, but $50 000/year C206 jobs are around if you look hard enough.

If those rates are correct it seems Toll have followed Surveillance Australias lead in paying attractive and competative renumeration thereby getting the people they need and keeping them.

REX are you listening ????????

" but $50 000/year C206 jobs are around if you look hard enough."

Is that supposed to be good??
$60k should be the minimal. If average salaries are 57k then we should be getting alot more even for a starting CPL job.Thankfully I have some faith in gen Y to bring those numbers up with their "want it all know without getting my hands dirty" attitude.
Gd luck to 90% of you the GA operaters who very much deserve whats to come.
Betters time to come for the young Pilots coming up I'd think.
