Are pilots working for Korean Airlines considered expat since they commute instead of living in Seol? I know they pay Korean taxes, do they also pay US taxes as well or do they get the 87500 tax exemption?

Just found a Korean Tax table from someone in St. Louis Missouri, according to it, the tax is 25%. Are there any Americans at KAL that can verify and if so do you have to pay 15% to SSI as well?
