Is there any chance of this occuring in the future? I don't work for either, but I was under the impression that it had been voted on as a part of the current CoS.

Many thanks.

KA freighter integration into CX has indicated how an eventual full integration will take place.
KA crew would be "offered" a spot at the buttom of the sen.list.

At the end of the day. We may be family but KA is still the little brother who will be told how and what to do - just like its taking place now. :D

I don't want to integrate with Cathay pilots. They eat their own. Integration will lead to dilution of our group's good character.

Great bunch of guys at KA. More benefits staying separate.

.. and we don't get enough days off to fill in all the AOA surveys.

Good point - taken! We do eat our own now and then - for breakie. And what a taste that is!! If you dont like it, wash it down with a Swire Coca Cola - what a feeling.. :ok:

Thanks for the feedback, how many days off are you guys getting on average? And does everyone start out on the 320 or is it purely dictated by demand?

In CX as an Sandwich Officer you will have somewhere in the area of 14-21 days OFF in a month! Not bad. You are being paid accordingly though.. Its a fun time - just dont forget the butt cream for those 6 yearly sims!! Oouchh oouch.. And on it goes..

When u upgrade and become a Junior first officer (gotta love that stuff!) expect beween 9-13 days off a month (though only 9 G!).

When u become a first officer (upgraded from the Junior one!! yeah yeah!) maybe u will start doing a bit more long/ultra long haul flying and get maybe 10-16 days off a month.. But by then your butt is really, really sore and you will probably be thinking whether coming to CX was the right choice (smart dudes realize this way earlier though unless they like the feeling!! :p)

As for KA (which I think you are really asking). The fellows are working more days a month (less days off!). Too much work for sure. I believe its normal with 9-10 days off a month. On the other hand the KA outfit seems to be more fun and less anal than Cathay Pathetic Airways. But the question is for how long that will last. CX has sent its "leaders" over to KA to take care of whatever fun there is and align it with the "Big Brother". So expect the fun value to be gone soon!

Anyways. Why not come to Donkie Kong (Aka Disney Land), have a bit of fun (exchange culture), get a rating and then bugger off - or stay if you like it!

Whatever you do - have a good read of what these pages on Pprune and ask yourself what you believe in. Good luck! :ok:

your figures for S/O days off must be for the 744 fleet, guys on the bus (ccq) get alot less, still at around 10-14 days off a month, not a bad deal.

Thanks for your constructive post Yaeger. Yes, I am trying to evaluate ALL aspects of the position, based on all the available information, before making a decision. I'm told the interview is fairly brutal, so they might just make the decision for me!

One thing I am unclear on is the annual leave system, i've heard through about 5th hand info that it is allocated in blocks of 7 days, would anyone care to enlighten me?

Cheers.

Yeager is correct 9-10 days off is normal per month for Airbus.

And those nice CX types now say no rostering agreement for those KA boys.

Old boss meet the new boss :ouch:

And expect to be on blocks at 11pm at gate 60+ before your single G day. Its amazing how aften that happens, you would think it may be planned!

But the new boss turned up saying rostering was his "number one priority" and it was "the reason he was here!" Boy were we sold a lemon. Im embarrased to say, that almost to the man we fell for it. There are a very few who have the right to say "told you so," but true to form, they dont need to. It is interesting to note the flack these guys copped for having an opinion that proved to be correct from the level 2 spies on the DPA website as well. I have learnt alot from this blatant lie in writing.

Im sure Kenny and swires wont allow the lies to continue much longer. :hmm:

To cop a $400 million fine for breaking the law, and blame the fule price. The porky pies flow thickly from our CX overlords dont they?
