Went to a Summer proms concert at Weston park last night that was opened to a montage of WW2 movie theme tunes with an accompanying display of a Spitfire (Mk 5 I think) flown by Flt Lt Charlie Brown. Superb entrance, Charlie could be heard running in during the opening bars of Battle of Britain which, if you know the tune, are quiet and low key, and then arrived in the display area just at the point the music changes to the more upbeat tempo. Brilliant choreography, or pure fluke though I prefer to believe the former.

Anyay, I recall one of these Proms in the Park things being done at Lyneham in 97/98 ish. Anyone remember it, what it was called and if any video or DVD of the night is available.

Thanks.

I also saw Charlie Brown and his Spitfire, and yes it was a Mk V, at this year's "The Spitfire Prom" held at Belton House, Grantham on the 12th July.

Brilliant choreography, or pure fluke though I prefer to believe the former

Certainly at Belton House it was the former, brilliant choreography, as a colleague of Charlie Brown, standing a few feet away from myself, was in constant radio communication with Charlie throughout the display and had a young lady standing next to him with the music scores.
It was a wonderful display centred around Belton House and the music "played too" were "The Battle of Britain March", "Calling all Workers" and the "Dambusters March". All very moving and nostalgic.
