Perhaps if a Chinook had been used we could have watched a military marching band perform.

Was the soundtrack the music being played, or was it the sound of one of the helicopters flying with no oil in the transmission?

Stockhausen's helicopter extravaganza finally gets a UK outing -- in Birmingham. So we're talking hideous noise, filthy pollution, disorientated human beings making incomprehensible sounds -- but that's enough about Birmingham.

Is it just me or is that music brutal? The blade-slap from the Blackhawks sounds 100 times better, in my humble opinion.

As a student of both helicopters and the violin I can honestly say I want now to play the piano and fly fixed wings. That is truly awful.:yuk:

It's aleatoric or avante-garde music (commonly referred to by those who have to study it as alimentary music). It's supposed to sound like that, to be new and edgy or something. Blame John Cage (the 4'33" guy).

And yes, it is bloody awful.

Did I hear they were practicing for the Olympics!! music relayed with a down link whilst helicopters overhead :{
Not April 1st yet is it?
No wonder the Olympics are costing so much, or it is a government incentive for helio pilots in the South who are hard hit by all the restrictions.
