What's the deal with ATI grounding some of thier DC-8s? How will this affect the airline going forward?

With today's fuel prices, I can see that it makes sense to park the five JT3D-7 DC.8-62-series that they were operating;

N21CX/N41CX/N71CX/N728PL/N799AL

ATI was supposed to add three B767's to their fleet througout 2008, presumably to replace the retired DC.8's.

ATI grounded the DC8 70 series over the weekend. It was just for required maintenance. All the DC8 70's are now up and flying. As for the 60 series, we still fly N41CX, N71CX, N799AL our last 3 DC8 62's. B767 should be here soon.

I just love the blue ATI colours and they look great on the 767.
Did Boeing convert this aircraft from pax to cargo ?

The 767 are being converted by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) http://www.iai.co.il/Default.aspx?docID=38635&FolderID=32981〈=en&PageNum=2 (http://www.iai.co.il/Default.aspx?docID=38635&FolderID=32981&lang=en&PageNum=2)

Is ATI still hiring? Hard to find any place or person to send a resume. APC says they are hiring but going to the web site only shows 4 non pilot jobs. can anyone give me an email address to the CP or HR? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Any ideas where N728PL ended up? I assume that it had been stored around 2003/4, maybe at their homebase Blytheville, Ar. along N21CX? Any ideas very welcome, thanks!

Seems to have disappeared off the radar, last seen Hawaii in November 2002.

Yes, last photo proof is from 25 November 2003 from Bahrain-Muharraq International (still in old cs. by then). Maybe this DC-8 ended it's career in the deserts of the Gulf region (Iraq?)...

This post is dated 2008 and shows N728PL, but it is not clear whether or what time it was at Ostend? :confused:

Last visit to Ostend was definitely long before 2008, this list is a summary over at least the 8-10 years at OST... :sad:
