Hello all, I am looking for advice from those who have been there and done that already. I am looking to find a pilot job in either Europe, Asia or India and am not sure if I would be competitive for any worthwhile jobs. I am a FO for a US regional airline with an FAA ATP certificate, and about 3500hrs turbojet as an E-145 FO. I do not hold any PIC type ratings. Are there any realistic (and decent paying) options without type ratings and lots of PIC time? Thanks for the help.

If you were prepared to work anywhere then there are many possibilities worldwide. In Europe, you would be very limited without a JAA licence unless you could find a N reg biz jet owner or something like that.

With your hours and experiance you should be able to find something especially in Asia, your best bet would be to get in touch with some of the major contract companies to get a feel on what sort of positions are on offer.

:ok:

Out of interest, how long would you have to wait to get a command upgrade with your present company?

Thanks for the info. At my current company before the downturn in the economy upgrade to CA was running about 7-8 years for a small turboprop Saab 340, 8-9 yrs for ERJ 145. Currently the company is slashing our routes and reducing workforce, so junior CA will probably be 10+yrs seniority. I have only been here 4 years, so i really hope to make a move and find some opportunity elsewhere.
