How do folks,

This is something that's been mentioned on PPrune before, by other Flight sim fans - the availability of charts, approach plates, SIDS & STARS for use with Flight Sim, Fly, etc.

Now, many of us are aware that it's highly illegal to scan Jeppesen & the like and make them available on the web, but I came across this site which appears to be legit and may be of use to some of you:

Make of it what you will....hopefully some of you will find it helpful.

Please note that all charts available are for Flight Simulation ONLY, and not for real life navigation!! ;)

You should be able to get any of the ones marked 'free'...

Also there's a password you'll need to look at the .pdf files, but that's available on the site.

They do request a subscription fee for some features, but given that they are a lot cheaper than getting a subscription to the Jeppesen or Aerad real-world charts they ought to satisfy most serious flight Sim fans...

The ones you suggest can be full of potholes that cost money. Anywhere Jepps or Aerad are they will too. Can't get away from some depending on what you want.

However, try this site and follow the links you will be surprised what you can come up with. It's an honest site and the humps and hollows are in full view.

While you are at it you should/must go to this little known site where you can get STARS/SIDS/CHARTS/FLIGHT PLANS/WX Airfield data Everything! The wx might be iffy but the data isn't. Won't cost you a single penny. http://www.fallingrain.com/air/airports.cgi
