My computer doesnt like chatting and I think I may have the probelm half sussed out but dont know what to do about it.

It wont run Java applets. (problem noted when trying to run yahoo games and it says waiting for jave applet to load and it never does.) The window has one of those boxes with the geometrical shapes in the top left corner.

Can anyone help?

Major browser internet explorer 5.5 and I loaded netscape with java to see if Id missed out on something with IE. It all runs on a toshiba satellite 2610 DVD with windows 98.

Gee, i should have checked the spelling in the first post or written it after my first coffee!!!

In IE, have a look at Tools, Internet Options, the Security tab. If it's set to High I think that stops Java. Set it to Custom then click Settings. Scroll down until you see the Java sub-heading then see if Disable Java is checked. If so uncheck it.

The Low security setting is not recommended in these days of worms and trojans.
