Captains base 120000 FOs 72000 add to that a flying rate of 60 an hour most bases you average 250hrs a year. You get 6 weeks off a year but you are not forced to take it your roster works around 4 on 4 off only day light hours at the base most bases have 5 captains so you do between 10 and 12 days a month.

Does anyone know if these numbers are still accurate please?

With all due respect to GG, wish he'd never left! Believe new hire Captain's would not get anywhere near the 120k mark, more like 85-95k. The average hrs per base is steadily dropping as well, some pilots are below a 100hrs per year.

Word of advice unless your a brown nose, yes man, who want's to fly less than a PPL DON'T DO IT ! :=:=

Thank you. Always sad to see pay drop, especially by that margin. Seems its inevitable in aviation these days. Interesting crew utilisation!

I heard there are two FOs leaving YPPH base, don't believe there will be any Captain positions for a while though.

Perth fly the least of all the bases, I heard less than a 100hrs a year is pretty common. They also recently lost their Check Captain, which was a shame because he was our best C&T pilot by the proverbial mile.

We do between 200 to 300 in Perth I have never been below 250 Our check and trainer went to jets 5 years in search and rescue would be enough for most people.

Anyone know how much long the contract is for? I've seen 7 and 10 years with some sources saying the contract started in 2005 and others saying 2007.

Green gorilla

Each base expires around 6 to 9 months apart not taking into consideration contract extensions.

G'day GG how's flogging around on the F100 treating you?

We do between 200 to 300 in Perth Was that before or after losing the Customs flying?

I have never been below 250 Does that include your C&T hours? I always thought YPPH spent most of their time flying rockets and model airplanes rather than the Dornier!

BPA most people I know in AR are looking to get out, mainly due to a moron CP.:ugh::ugh:

Hans Solo - Shed Dog & Howard...Be Careful what you wish for!!
As it happens I have a mate, who has mate who knows a bloke that works for this outfit.

Company seems to be OK, the job is the job; but apparently, there are some serious issues, those mentioned in camera at the Senate in Parliament. Serious stuff I hear. Until these issues are resolved I would guess this could potentially not be the happy 100 hrs a year sheltered workshop, as advertised on TV.

Only hanger gossip of course, but worth a mention I thought.

Noticed that Aero Rescue are advertising for F/O's at the moment. Research doesn't reveal any current info on the T&C's etc. Does anyone have an idea on the state of the nation there at Aero Rescue.

Heard recently that Cobham Coastwatch crews are practicing dropping gear from their Dash 8s in preparation for taking over SAR contracts. AeroRescue might not be around for that much longer if that is the case?
