Not seen this on here yet, apparently it made an emergency landing, the yanks subsequently had to blow it up...

good skills to the crew that put it down.

Anyone got any info on the mech failure they suffered? Must have been pretty serious.

I hear 4 Engine flame out drills are getting practiced a lot recently. :ooh:

The Americans are getting very open about what they publish.

This appears to be a multiple flame-out/failure but your reply sounds a bit cryptic - do you know something we don't and can you share it with us?
It does not sound like a security/defence prob - only a maint prob?

We heard down here that it was a four engine roll back.

Photos indicate lots of damage, but anything worth while was removed before the aircraft was destroyed.

Why destroy it? Its not as if the Baddies are going to fix it and use it themselves.

Or do they think that it'll get stripped of parts that'll end up on e-bay?

Not fix it, but it (or parts of it) would otherwise be appearing in AQ propaganda videos from here to Christendom every time they claim to have shot something down.

How very naive of you Two's in!. I think it's much more likely it was done by the U.S. to stop parts appearing in the hands of a "military expert" on British sky news every time time any allied aircraft comes down, and being described as parts from a four engined C130 Nimrod army helicopter based in RAF Scotland:}
