hello gurus' ..

After much teeth gnashing, hair pulling and pretty much a complete rebuild of the desktop I find I can't run msn messenger.

Error messages aside, the troubleshooting thingo hits a snag on the key port whatsit.

Can someone please tell me what is a key port, where do I find it/them and how do I get around this?

I'm running XP Pro SP 3, Zone Alarms (latest version) AVG free (latest version), I've uninstalled and re-downloaded msn messenger but all to no avail.

Any words of wisdom will be greatly received. (I've googled the error messages and visited all sorts of sites but all to no avail ...) :ugh:

If it keeps failing you might want to try one of the alternatives that use the MSN Live! network such as pigdin (http://www.pidgin.im/) or aMSN (http://www.amsn-project.net/) (both are free open source software).
