I went up to Luskintyre today for the "lunch with the Tigers" It was a terrific day with lots of tigers playing in the afternoon sunshine. The air was smooth and the light dappled through the scattered clouds. A poetically nice time.

The folk were very friendly and I just thought that today being 4 years from the initial "lunch with the Tigers" they should be congratulated for what they are doing.

Remember first Sat of the month and Jamie does a mean sausage sandwich.

I haven't been there in years but for those that haven't been its' absolute heaven!
If you love airplanes and are looking for something do on a Saturday, its' only around an hour and a halfs drive from Hornsby. Even better still fly up! They welcome people flying in but just get some details before you go.

Here's the website: Luskintyre Aviation Flying Museum (http://www.luskintigers.com.au/)

Jaimie spends a lot of time and effort promoting aviation through Luskintyre and his website aeroclub.com.au: Australia: Everything in aviation - Events, Clubs, Schools, Airfields, Aircraft and more... (http://www.aeroclub.com.au)

He's always looking at ways of improving his site, he's working on a fuel finder at the moment which is extremely helpful when planning trips.

I know the people there and it is a real pleasure and totally refreshing to be with gentlemen who have a a true passion for aviation. No whinng, complaining....they never made millions out of the job, but that isn't what is was ever about.

The amount of charity work they do is nothing short of exemplorary.

Do yourself a favour, give them a call and drop by. It'll bring back that smile on your face.

Very much on! Have been to a few now and echo the above comments. It's all about what flying should be about.

They try and put on something once a month, however sometimes it just doesn't work out. Have to keep your ear to the ground!

A great little active club that has something happening usually every Saturday with a BBQ lunch at the new little well equipped club house next to the tower. Cookie sends out an email once a month to members. Numbers that turn up is usually weather dependant. Last Saturday was great with Frank's new Breezy running non stop. Looking forward to all this crappy weather moving on and spring arriving and even more activity.
Roll up, join and get a few contact numbers and your set.

A fantastic afternoon in the Hunter! The true spirit of aviation... Hope enough people remain interested to keep it going for a long time yet :ok:
