Spotted at 2030 on Tuesday 1st July at low altitude over the Forest of Dean Gloucestershire heading east. Can anyone enlighten me as to possible origin/destination? Don't usually get this type of exotica around 'ere. :hmm:

There are a couple of shows coming up (RIAT at Fairford (20 odd miles) and Farnbrough, further…), both get exotica from the east…

Probably bound for Brize Norton, they're quite regular visitors, though as Touring said it could be heading for one of the air shows.

Hope he meant the AN-124, which is fairly common, and not the '225!!

Affirm Heathrow Director twas the An 124. T'other flying leviathan would probably have deforested half the Dean at that altitude. :ooh:

Much obliged Morrihell. Must have come off airways around Brecon and tracked towards Brize.

I'm not sure how the 225 would have had any more impact on the Forest of Dean than the 124, the 225 only really makes use of engines 5 & 6 for take off and climbing.

One went over the top LHR about 1450 today heading west perhaps already reducing height or might it be on its way to collect the A360 model?

Wowsa! Three on one side and only one on the other - that would really take some rudder muscle in the cruise! Wouldn't 1 and 6 make more sense?!:)

The 225 was parked up at Schiphol this morning, when I went through there. My my, it's a whopper !
