The requirements state that you need 20 hours cross country instrument time. How many of those hours can be in the sim?

from memory...NONE.
You can only count the sim time towards the req'd IF time, you still had to go out and play real pilot for the X-country time as the intial issue test requires you to navigate to somewhere other than the local NDB hang out.
Im open to corrections, things do change, i could be wrong

From memory, CIR is 40 hrs IF, of which 20 can be in the sim, and 20 must be XCountry in an aircraft.
ok thanks everyone. I found out that you are allowed up to 15 hours cross country from an approved sim.
Everyone has Captain in their name lol
