I have had an odd question come up during expat recruitment. Foreign airline wants a specific official FAA reference that points out that an A320 type rating also covers the A319 and A321. I have googled and searched the FAA website for days and cannot come up with anything. Anyone come up against this before or aware of a reference?

Thanks

Have never been in that situation myself, but have you tried contacting your local FSDO ?

FAA - Flight Standards District Offices (FSDO) (http://www.faa.gov/about/office_org/field_offices/fsdo/)

Go to opspecs.com (http://www.opspecs.com) and look under the FSB tab for the FAA Flight Standards Board report on the Airbus, you can download the FSBR and use it as your reference, it lists all the prerequisites for the common FAA type rating for the 318/319/320/321

Also the AC for type ratings lists them together.
